Help Please "Care Parking"

Hi

I received a PCN (£60) at a Railway station Car Park, where it is free to park. I parked slightly on the kerb, the same as four other cars - it was at the back of the stations that is now a cafe so a disused bit of pavement. There was no sign that said no parking and no yellow lines. Across for where I parked was double yellow lines with 15+ cars all parked, with no Parking tickets!! I wasn't blocking anyone or the road

Anyway, I appealed the PCN and asked for a POPLA code. This was on the 10th September 2019. I received an acknowledgment email saying that they would get back to me within 35 days....so that came and went and I have now received a letter stating that the charge has gone up to £100 and I have 28 days to pay. They do state in the letter that they got my details from DVLA. I did not admit that I was driving in my appeal nor did I name the person driving.

They seem to have skipped a step...the outcome of the appeal. What do I do now please? Anyone have any ideas? I don't want to write back to them as they will know they have the registered keepers details correct.

Thanks in advance!

Complain to the BPA that you didn't get a POPLA code, if you checked your spam/trash email folders.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
