CCJ issued for parking fine on a car I've never owned or used

Hi, can anyone help? On checking my credit file, I've found a CCJ issued to an old address, for a parking fine on a car that I've never heard of, in a car park I've never been to, 100 miles away from where I live (issued by Civil Enforcement Ltd).
I understand I can apply to have the CCJ set aside, but there's obviously the court fee of £255, is there any way around this? I assume there would be a way of claiming it back from these cowboys, but what's the chances of them actually paying it and what potential timeframe I could be looking at? Are there any other options?
Thanks in advance.

Start with complaints to the BPA and DVLA, plus send a LBC to the scammers saying they need to sort this out or you will be taking them to court for a DPA/GDPR breach plus the damage to your credit, plus any costs already incurred.
You want the CCJ removed at their cost.
The scammers have unlawfully obtained your personal details and used them to obtain monies to your detriment, and damage to your reputation and ability to obtain credit.I married my cousin. for you to have had a claim against you there must be a reason the claim was made against you
You may have been named as a driver
Do a SAR to the parking company0 -
Don't delay in applying for a set aside. They are supposed to be done promptly. You can ask for costs if and when you win.0

If you qualify for fee remission https://www.gov.uk/get-help-with-court-fees
Also you should ALWAYS invite the other side to consent to a set aside or application unless there is a very tight time frame. If they agree it's £100.
Further, if, as you suggest, they've screwed up (misread the number plate most likely) they might even pay it up front.I assume there would be a way of claiming it back from these cowboys,
Loser pays, usually unless it's small claims or the winner behaved unreasonably.what's the chances of them actually paying it
The biggest PPCs usually pay when required to.what potential timeframe I could be looking at?
Months rather than weeks, but it differs according to how busy your local court is.Are there any other options?
A consented set aside (agreed)
A consented set aside and discontinuance as they've screwed up.
Ignore it.
Pay it.
etc
Some reading.

Where was this car park?
whos car park is it? ( that is the owner/loaction - not the parking company)From the Plain Language Commission:

Contact them and get them to pay to set it aside, as you are about to sue them for £1000 for wrongfully wrecking your credit rating by mishandling your data and placing your car at a place where it never was.
Ask them for the photos so you can prove this is not your car, and get really pushy about this so they agree to a consent to set aside funded by them.
If they refuse, you will have to sue them until they take you seriously & put it right...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I suspect that this will be another DVLA cockup , had it just have been one number / letter out (misread by parking co) then the OP would have mentioned it0

But there is another issue. A simple question is how did they get your address to serve court papers on and why did you not receive the court papers and correspondence about the ticket?0
