Can't figure out heating in new house
Hi,
I've just moved into my new house today and the central heating has stopped working after a few hours of it being on. There's a baxi back boiler with a hive thermostat but the thermostat can't connect to the reciever anymore.
After looking into it, it seems like I need to reset the receiver but I've no idea where this would be. I can't see it inside the boiler anywhere or in the cupboard where the gas and electricity meters are.
Thanks.

The receiver should be connected to the boiler so have another look around there. You could remove the thermostat and take it close to the boiler to see if it will reconnect to the receiver on its own.0

If its hive there should be a hive hub attached to the internet somewhere, usually close to your broadband hub. There are 3 components, the thermostat, the receiver near the boiler and the hub. When mine loses connection the hub needs resetting by pulling the power and rebooting it. It also needs to be close to the receiver near the boiler to work0

Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

The hive hub isn't actually plugged into anything, presumably because we don't have internet in the house yet. From what I've read the system should work with just the reciever and the thermostat but I can't find the reciever to work out why it's not connecting to the thermostat. It was working fine for a few hours when we first got here.0

The link doesn't seem to be working0

The stat should work fine when connected to the receiver even if the hub is not connected to the internet.
Have you looked where the hot water tank is in the airing cupboard for the receiver?
Checked the batteries in the stat?

I've replaced the thermostat batteries but it's just stuck on reconnecting. I think my hot water tank is in the attic but I'm not sure, is it possible the reciever could be there? I don't see an airing cupboard anywhere.
It's my first house so I really don't know what I'm doing.
Also, not sure if it's just me but that link seems broken.
