in Credit cards
Hi, I made a reasonably significant deposit into my Revolut account from a credit card.
The credit card company seems to have missed it. I made it in early November, and made similar deposits around this time which have made also made it. I was waiting for my statement and the other deposits are on there but this particular one isn’t.
The money WENT into my revolut account for sure after checking and triple checking, this leaves me a teeny bit richer.
Has anyone had an experience like this before? My thinking was that the cc isuer will eventually realise their mistake and ask me for this money in a future statement, but the face I’ve had my most recent one ( two weeks later) and it’s not on there makes me wonder if they’ve just completely missed it and they’ll never ask for it.
I’m not a dishonest person so maybe I should report it, but at the same time, I think my preferred d course of action right now is the ‘wait and see’. I obviously won’t spend the money and will keep it there in anticipation for when they ask it back, but I also won’t be chasing the bank around to fix their mistake

So my credit limit is a certain amount. I wanted to max out the card as it’s zero percent. Should I keep spending towards the max limit, or should I imagine it as if the extra money I’ve had has been deposited, and treat that as my max limit?
Say if I had a limit of 2k and my missed amount was 1k. Should I treat the remaining £1000 as my upper limit now, in expectation of eventually being charged?0 -
It will be a issue at the Revolut end and they have not taken the funds from your card.
I would ensure that you keep that amount away from your limit. Or when it debits you will possibly incur a charge for overlimit.Life in the slow lane0 -

It is never advisable to 'max out' a credit card. When using the card leave enough funds available to cover the missing transaction.
You should do as you suggest in your second paragraph.0 -
I would be very careful on how adding money to your Revolut account is handled by your CC, as some do it as a purchase but some class it as a cash advance.

Checked that one already, but thank you. Fortunately with this card it’s a transaction. Which is absolutely dandy!0
