Light switch wiring question

Another wiring question, sorry.
We have a pair of lights in our kitchen that currently switch on and off independently. We want the to work together.
At one end there is a 2 hand switch that the lights work off, and one of the pairs is also switched on and off at another switch. We would like this later switch also to turn them on and off. So I think we want a 1 gang 2 way switch.
I had a look at the current 2 gang switch and it is wired very strangely. I have included a picture, essentially the only common that appears to have any power is on one switch is wired accross to the other. There are 2 blue wires joined out of the picture. I tried wiring what I thought should be the common and L1 into a 1 gang switch, and then transferred the L2 over. The lights came on but still independently depending on how the other switch was on or off.
Any ideas or more info that I need to provide?

There are a couple of ways of wiring a 2 way switch. I'd just replicate what you see if your swapping the switch as its easier than trying to work it out. The link wire between the 2 gangs will probably be live all the time, use a tester to find out. Put a sleeve on each live in wire you find to identify them, it always helps. Remember every wire in the switch is either a live in or a switched live. The blue wires you mentioned are probably neutrals which are not usually present at a switch.
If none of this makes sense you might need some help. 2 way lighting wiring isn't the easiest thing to work with.
BTW are you saying you want both lights to be 2 way switched where currently only 1 is? Its not clear what you mean.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
Whatever you do, mark the wires in some way so that if it all goes wrong, you can at least put it back how it was.0
