It was the thermostat as some people suggested. Not an electrician but some relevant training and a meter, decided to dive in and check it. So it's now out of circuit, in effect on full, which is how these arrangements are supposed to be used anyway, I just prefer to save some money and wear more than t-shirt and shorts in winter.The OP said the hot water circuit is not time switched (which is wasting money).
I was talking about the boost function, which is not time switched but is cheap rate, because that's all I use. These systems are more complicated than Econ 7 and such.0
