Interested to gauge opinions of the Santander Zero CC please.
Wondered if it was worth having to use at foreign ATMs to withdraw local currency.
We have a Santander current account so it would be straightforward enought to transfer funds via iPad app soonest after hole in the wall traansaction to effectively erase interest charges.

Of course it is.0 -
Yes.
Or Halifax Clarity.0 -
I've had Santander Zero since it was Abbey National Zero. Great card. I also have a Halifax Clarity card. Both work the same way and are great to have when travelling.
In my case, Zero lets me take out £300 day whereas Clarity allows £500 a day. The APR is higher on Zero but when taking out cash I pay promptly so it's pence either way.
In terms of reliability, I'd say they are both the same.0 -
Thanks above.
I have a Halifax Clarity card, rarely used, not sure if I need another of similar type.0 -

If you already have a Clarity card then use that.0 -
I have a Zero card for yonks!
I thought it had been phased... have they relaunched it?365 Day 1p challenge - £371.49 / 667.95
Emergency Fund £1000 / £1000 ( will enlarge once debts are cleared)
DFW - £TBC0 -
It was discontinued, then reintroduced a couple of years ago.
Actually pretty sure it was discontinued, reintroduced, discontinued and reintroduced! But existing cardholders could always keep their card.
Personally I never rely on a single card when travelling. But I suppose in most cases a "standard" card (ie one that loads) is an adequate backup for those rare occasions when Zero/Clarity might get blocked.0 -

I visited our local branch one Friday to open this account - the bank was very busy so I advised the assistant that I would drop in on the Monday morning.
Santander pulled that card deal over the weekend and staff only knew when they opened for business on the Monday - I was really narked !!!
Anyway, my application for a Zero credit card went through and was immediately confirmed, with a very generous five figure credit limit, more than double our Halifax Clarity card.0
