Wrong colour vynil installed kitchen+damage

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of advice as I'm not sure what my rights would be.
I started renting out my house around 9 months ago when I moved in with my boyfriend. Tenants moved out and there was a lot of damage in the kitchen vynil. My property is fully managed, they asked a contractor to come around have a look what could be done. Contractor said nothing could be done that needed to be replaced. It went on for a few months as I was very specific I wanted to choose the colour and wanted something that would go with existing carpet and kitchen. Estate agents told contractor to show me samples so he came to my current house. He recommended me a more expensive type of flooring to avoid future problems and we agreed on a colour. He didn't write anything down. He sent me back price for this floor which I thought was very high so I instructed Estate agents to ask them for a vynil again that would be cheaper and for a colour as similar to the one in my bathroom as possible as mentioned a few times I wanted something light as it's a small kitchen and wanted to keep it as bright as possible.
Floor got installed, I went to the house to have a look and they installed a very dark grey vynil that doesn't go with the brown and light cream kitchen at all. It also had a dent in the middle of it, glue was left on the worktop and a kitchen end panel got damaged. I got in touch with estate agents straight away and they contacted flooring company that is not willing to do anything about it. I asked for at least a reduction in the price they said no.
As far as I know there is no signed contract, I haven't signed anything. Only thing I have in my side is the email I sent to kitchen instructing the work and saying colour to be as similar as possible to the bathroom.
It hasn't been paid yet as estate agents put the invoice on hold as I asked for a little time to look for advice.
I know it's just a rented house but I made clear from the beginning the colour was important to me and its my house that I put a lot of work in and lived for a few years. I might live there again in the future why I wanted something I'd like.
Any help would be much appreciated.

If there isn't anything else at all in writing to the agent or floor company that's pretty vague regarding the colour,

Rental property makes the transaction business to business.

In my view, if they gave you no terms at all they should be expected to pay for any damage to the kitchen, mainly replacing the end panel.

What kind of worktop is it? How much glue? Can it be removed?

Do they acknowledge they caused the damage? Do you have anything to show it wasn't there before (check out inventory photos for example)?

Probably easier to live with the dent in the vinyl and I don't think you'd get far regarding the colour but happy to be corrected.
