I think I would move the boy in with me as well.;) I think it's heartbreaking that at 16 they are kicked out of the system. Is it worth talking to Social Services to see if you could come to an arrangement with him living with you as an older foster child? i.e. they pay you money to feed, clothe and house him. Many SS in LA have a leaving care programme and they might have funding available to help the boy.
Oh, yes I'd let him keep the sweatshirt. I'd also ask him if he could make use of some clothes & belongings that you no longer need.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

That probably rates as one of the funniest cross posts I have ever seen...

Tes you are soooo kind, and if your son's not bothered about the lad having his stuff let him keep it.He needs it more than your son:beer:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Some good karma is coming your way Tes. I know you can't help the boy financially but it must be nice for him to feel there is a family out there who cares for him. He must be ever so scared and lonely at times.:A

I think Snaggles just meant that it was funny that I said everyone was caring and then that very uncaring insensitive reply came just before as I had posted just after them. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -

Yes I will do my best for him. Unfortunately, I dont have a spare room or he could move in. Will definitely find out what hes doing for Christmas. I do generally look out for him but there are a group of friends and all the boys have a kind of social network where all the families give him a welcome. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I agree with everyone but emmaroids, although emma did make me laugh.
I'm not too sure about moving him in with you though, that could be inviting problems.
