Thanks for the comments on the piccy :-)
Allexie is right in there isn't a lot to do in Mallaig. I've got two boys, so we filled the time in by going to a small sea life centre, wandering round the harbour looking at boats, and sat in the sun and had an ice cream. Here I go again on my own....0 -

If you would like to see dolphins, seals, ospreys etc......have a look at the Scotland sub board (from the Local MoneySaving board) at page 2. There is a thread about seeing wildlife on holiday in Scotland.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. If you like sealife, this is a must http://www.seafari.co.uk/
We did it from Easdale, which is a nice place to visit in itself. They take you out on life rafts and you race across the sea at up to 45mph! The islands we visited were uninhabited, so there was lots to see. There were many seals bobbing about and lying on the shore line, porpoises, masses of birds and deer running loose on the islands. We saw some whirlpools and rode the little ones, and were told how the tide and currents work. We were also told the history of the area, and a tale about a mythical witch who lives on an island and drowns bad people in the whirlpools. We must be good as we survived
The guides are very knowledgeable and are happy to answer questions.
The best bit was when a 'bait ball' went past. This is lots of little fish that swim near the suface. We were in the middle of it with birds coming down and porpoises coming up from underneath to feed on the fish. It was amazing.
Do wrap up warm as it can be chilly at sea, although they do provide waterproofs and life jackets.
Highly recommened for both the wildlife and it really clears your sinuses out :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0
