Asbestos roof tiles

Our roof tiles are asbestos and look very untidy with moss and dirt, can these tiles be cleaned ? Some look like they have been painted with the paint peeling off in places, or at least I hope its paint and not a protective seal exposing the asbestos. We had always hoped that following current work to the house that we would replace all the roof tiles but now that we know they are asbestos, removing and have them disposed of properly is an added cost that we wouldn't be able to afford.for another few years.
Has anyone has their asbestos roof cleaned before?

How old is your house?0

We live in a 1930's semi which had red asbestos tiles.
These were brought up as "limited" life on our mortgage application, we had them cleaned and painted with I believe, a rubberised type paint.
In the end however wasn't the tiles that gave out but the fixing nails and we bit the bullet and fitted blue slate.
So in answer to your question, yes we had them cleaned, but the guy who did it also recommended sealing them with this paint .
Hope this helps0 -

Theres nothing about them on our mortgage as we didnt know when we bought the house. I think we have old.copper pins or nails securing ours to roof and I have read that once they break down there can be issues replacing there. Our cowboy builder charged through the roof leaving tiles all.over the yard. I'm not sure if he knew or knew but didnt care. I must see about someone local.to clean and paint. Or if straight forward to attempt ourselves 🤔0
