Morning all! Waiting for a phone call to see when the boiler can be fixed. It went on Saturday but we had enough wood to keep warm with, but that's nearly run out so I'm going to order some in a bit to hopefully come tomorrow.
I'm currently fixing a light in the porch, everything takes much longer than it should because I'm not bodging anything. Plus it takes me a long time to work up to doing anything these days, I need to go over it and over it in my head first to check I'm prepared and know what I'm doing.
Also have a victoria sponge to make today [thanks gintot] I think I'l make baby ones instead of big ones, maybe muffin ones, don't know yet, have to rearrange the litchem after moving it all around so the plumber could get to the boiler and being as it's so small, everything is piled on the cooker or on the small square of actual worktop i have.

OH has the all clear after the colonoscopy which I'm very happy about after the report said something was abnormal, it wasn't really. So we stopped at a pub on the way back and had a two for one meal. I went out for coffee with friends after that too, all caught up, we need to make plans for one birthday at the end of november..

tru, same here, it is also an I don't trust the banks thing...jackie, that sounds grim, hope they can unfreeze it toot sweet...speky, how verykind of you, lots of people wouldn't have...scarlet, good news on the moving back! Gers, good luck, break a leg! Just kidding! don't break it...hope it goes quickly and your preparations spare you some discomfort. mehefin, what a palaver...hope she improves quickly and at least you have a vehicle...ruby, rest rest rest! snoozer, enjoy the trip and be safe! Hey everyone reading along, hope you're OK...Times ten Tuesday!

The dentist went ok..... I have sensitive gums around my crown ( it's not a cavity anyway ) and I have special toothpaste to rub into them. I've also lost 3 quarters of a stone, because I have lost my appetite through the TN.
On to today..... As Mr Fix It is putting in the DW I'm going to be plumbers mate in a mo , along with Go-fer and all round jolly good egg :rotfl:. Can you tell I can't wait ?. He's already swearing at the hole that he's trying to enlarge ! No matter I shall smile sweetly and be on hand with the coffees :D
I did manage to sort my freezers out eventually and found some ready cooked chicken so I shall make a stir fry in plum sauce with that for tea.
Gentle hugs to the poorly people, animals and those struggling. Healing vibes to the sick or injured.
Tru after my Mum died, Dad reached into a cupboard and then threw a wad of cash at me for her funeral........ £ 1000 . DD won't get that from me as we don't have 2 x £ 1000 to rub together :rotfl:
Mehefin new horsey lady bits oooooooh makes my eyes water at the thought. Hope the two begin to get on asap.
Speky well done, you deserve a gold star for helping :staradmin
taff glad OH has had the all clear. Every day seems to be a worry day.
Scarlet you would be welcome to come to Trago but I'm going 2 up on Dad's scooter, as my balance is all over the shop with these tablets. Better still you can go go in my place :rotfl:

Uh oh ! I'm being summoned, best show willing I suppose ( trying not to sigh too loud ! )
    Take care all

    Morning all,
I'm sorry to hear so many of you are in the wars, hope the bruises heal fast and you're back to normal soon.Mehefin poor newmare what a shame - I had no idea horses squabbled like that. Sorry about the financial woes too.
    Gers good luck for tomorrow!
Tru,my uncle who died the other week had to have a PM, the doctor put 'suspected asbestosis' down on the death cert.No sign of anything but apparently its a govt. statistic thing that cases have to be recorded, and he worked in the building trade :(

Taff glad OH got the all clear

I went into town yesterday morning, did my shopping and then went along to the town hall square for the remembrance service.2 of my Grans brothers are buried in France and I like to go and pay my respects.
The house is a tip,DH has been painting, and we also emptied the bookcases so they could be painted.I took as many as I could carry to the Hospice shop in town yesterday, and luckily our friend came yesterday and took a lot of DHs Lee Child,Peter James and other thrillers. He wouldn't part with them before, unlike me - I send them to the CS as soon as I've read them! He's also put new flooring down in the hall, which looks a lot better.
Snoozer, glad to hear baby DGS is doing well :T

Speky, your poor neighbour being stuck like that

Oh well better go and do something useful I suppose :D Take care all,no more falls xx

Oh my goodness - such a lot of woes and wars going on. I hope that all get resolved soon for everyone.

Scarlett - I'm low carbing and doing IF. I find it easier to not eat after about 3pm than to carry on eating. That way I'm fasting until the morning when I take a snack of nuts before my pain meds. And there's plenty of weight still to go!
  • Afternoon all. Grey and chilly here. We have been out for lunch as OH wanted to go to the spoons in Nailsea. It was very busy mostly with oldies like us. I prefer going there for breakfast as I like the avocado muffin with a poached egg and salsa.
Not much going on here this afternoon we are just keeping warm.

Hope all the fallers are feeling better today. TA have a nice lunch. Gers best wishes for tomorrow and a quick recovery. Taff mini Victoria sandwiches sound delicious

Well have a good afternoon and keep warm folks.

  • GERS in my haste this morning I never wished you well for tomorrow. Hope all goes as it should and you make a very speedy recovery.

Our coffee, natter and lunch meet lasted 4 hours today! Turkey dinners with all the trimmings started this week but we thought we would leave that till nearer Christmas! We both settled on lasagne, salad and garlic bread instead.

Afterwards we paid DS's DP a visit in the new shop she has just opened. She had worked for the same jewellers for about 25 years and loved it. Then the long established shop changed hands, failed to make a go of it and closed down. A big decision but she wanted to do the shop up and re-open selling more affordable gifts, fancy goods etc, as well as the more expensive jewellery. The shop looks lovely, very tastefully decorated with tempting window displays. She says so far business has been good and with so many shops closing down it's been a brave decision. She said she would always regret it if she didn't try. It's all fingers crossed it works out well for her.

I see we have another casualty on the list now. MEHEFIN I hope you and the new mare soon recover. I too didn't know horses could be so aggressive towards each other.

I don't know at what age this hoarding of money in the home starts but I am just the opposite! I very rarely keep money in the house in case of burglars!!

Have a nice evening folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the walking wounded. xx

    Evening all.

Well, if it's not done or bought by now it won't be before the middle of December.

My lovely friend came over to move the bed and bedside table, that was the easy part, all the assorted cables were more of a challenge and now involves two power strips and a lot of bad words!

Then we went out to do last minute shopping for DM. She wanted the Polish pickled herring, some haggis and neeps and some cake. I let him drive as he's on my insurance for a month. That felt really weird as I've never let anyone drive my car before, even ex-OH wasn't allowed.

The new cleaner was fine so the place is sparkling and smells of furniture polish again. All that's left to do today is supervise DM having a shower and getting to bed early.

I have to be in at 6.30a.m. tomorrow with the op at 8.00a.m. As I'm getting a spinal injection I expect to sitting up eating my lunch by 12 noon.:rotfl:

Many thanks for all the good wishes, they are gratefully received. I hope to be around during the week if all goes well. Home by Sunday I'm told.

My thoughts to all those still struggling, I hope that things start to ease for you soon.

    Happy evening.xx
  • All the best for tomorrow Gers, I hope all goes well.

OH has had his stitches out, he had 4 stitches in, a very neat scar, his had is a bit scaley, some E45 will soon see to that.

Sausage eggs and chips for supper, possibly ice cream for dessert.
