Nationwide Credit Card - see result early Part 2

A while back there was a thread on this board regarding seeing the result of a Nationwide Credit card eligibility checker early.
I was one who checked the source code and had the "decline" decision shown in the code. However on 06 Nov, I decided to try again and lo and behold it said"accept" this time with a limit of £3600, APR 19.9%.
I saved the application and decided not to apply. A day later I continued the application and checked the code again. It showed that I was continuing an application and again the decision was "accept".
So I bit the bullet on 08 Nov and applied fully. Now I'm not sure if I'm still going to be declined though, as I received a message stating that they would contact me within 4 working days with a decision. I've checked my Experian credit file and the hard check has been conducted.
My credit has been sketchy but for the last 5 years I have built it back up by paying everything on time and trying to keep my utilisation low. I have three defaults which all drop off next year.
Has anyone else experienced the same?

Yes, it's a referral.
Just about all card providers do them for those uncertain cases in the middle.0 -
You don’t need to look on the code now.
Nationwide tell you clearly on screen now following the eligibility check (before carrying out the hard search) whether you’ll be accepted or not and your estimated limit.0 -

That's interesting. HSBC checker told met that they couldn't give me a result and invited me to make a full application. Until about 3 months ago, it always gave me a straight "we can't offer you a card" result.
MBNA was also a referral when I asked if the limit could be reviewed. I declined going ahead as it would have meant a full check and I wanted to save those pesky hard searches.
It's funny how I'm still a straight "no" or a  for some providers at the moment.0 -

That's what I thought but it was further checks message that got me wondering. Oh well - I'll report back in a couple of days time.0 -
Right so the plot thickens. I called up on Tuesday because I got bored with waiting. The agent informed me that I had been declined. She asked if I was aware of anything on my file and I was upfront and said yes. The three defaults that are almost 6 years old.
I told her I only applied based on the result of the eligibility checker. She was surprised that I had been declined if the checker was stating accept. Anyway I left it at that but this morning have just checked my internet banking. Guess what's showing as a new account? A credit card with a £3.6K limit. To say that I'm confused is an understatement! :L:rotfl:

They may have made a manual review off the back of your call and since approved you0 -
You do know the source code is just the web page result and not anything to do with the decision which is all server side so you don't see any code on the actual decision just the code formatting the outcome.
Congratulations on getting the card.0 -
I called and I did get the card! The card itself was actually posted on the day that I called. I don't know what the last agent was reading to me, at the time but I think it was the underwriters notes maybe?
Any hoo, I am finally the owner of a new card at a "normal" rate, so I'm happy with that. Also been accepted for a BA Amex card with a £1K limit, so that's me done until 2021 as last default drops off at beginning of Nov next year. We're remortgaging next year, so won't be applying for any new credit and need all searches to have dropped off.0 -
This definitely still works!I always got interim = decline then literally today I tried again and got offered £7500 at 24.9% on the quote page. Source code showed interim accept so I clicked continue and got instantly accepted.
Interestingly the limit and rate match what the quote screen says!0
