Hi, my husband seems to think that some sort of extra payment is made at Christmas, does anybody know if this is true or just wishful thinking?

DLA gives you an extra payment of £10 at Christmas, I am afraid that I don't know if the same applies to IB.
My son got his extra amount this week in this months payment, so if your husband is due some then it should be on any payment due on or around now.0 -
Thank you for your help.0

Yes, a £10 bonus. Be sure to write them a "thank you" note, and don't spend it all in the same shop0

Ah but it says you can only get it if you are on Incapacity Benefit at the long term rate though. So it isnt everyone on Incapacity Benefit that gets it.
Isnt that stupid how you have to be on the highest rate of Incapacity Benefit to qualify for a tenner, lol.0 -
Indeed! It makes you want to tell them to shove their pesky tenner! lol0
