If only purchased in June, you might be able to make up a sob story and get PC world to replace on warranty - but doubtful.

Laptop screens are expensive to replace. You may find the screen costs more to buy than the laptop originally did in the first place!

You can sometimes get them off ebay and if confident, you can replace yourself with a few tools, patience, ingenuity and a big hammer.

Or you might be able to claim from your house insurance .
  • I bust my dell screen in a fit of rage last year, I bought one off ebay for £80 and slapped in in myself, lucky I had some little screw drivers, but the insurance option above could be an idea.

Im in a similar situation although its my laptop casing, the laptop will be 2 years old at the end of January. Its an acer laptop and its broken at the hinges where you open and close it. Is this repairable? The screen isn't broken at all however

ive fixed 2 laptop screens this yr for peeps.
both cost over a 100 quid for the parts alone.
unless the house insurance covers it, a new one might be the answer and then sell the old one on ebay?
    Get some gorm.
