Dad was very cordial yesterday, mind you I dangled the carrot of a trip to Trago on Wednesday :D.
The DW arrived just after 3.30 :T and the delivery men were lovely and helpful. Mr Fix It will have to make the holes in the cabinet bigger to accommodate a float valve attached to the pipes......... nothing's ever simple nowadays ! However this will have to wait as first I have a dentist appointment early this afternoon, but I will send Mr Fix It on a mission while I'm there.......... he will have a list :rotfl:. Tea will be some leftover beef in gravy with probably a jacket potato.
Sorry had to stop posting for the 2 mins silence.

Snoozer glad little grandson and Mum is home.
taff my late Mum could not make a successful sponge, but was a demon with pasty....... me I'm the opposite and you can sole your shoes with my pasty . Good luck !
Gers paper knicks, now that's posh :rotfl:.
    TA I second pasta bake.
Speky glad you had a good weekend back home. It will be lovely to actually "see" your step brother and his DD in person.
RedRuby hope the GP appointment goes in your favour.

Sending healing vibes to the 3 amigos and hope the bruises, sprains etc clear up asap. Hugs to anyone struggling, especially Tru and family.

    Take care all

    Good afternoon everyone :hello:

I managed to climb 7 stairs today so I got half way up to the landing. I am so so happy as this means I am not far off sending the bed back and sleeping upstairs with Steve. It also means that we can put the dining table and chairs back and have somewhere to eat Christmas dinner. It is such a big improvement in a week that I am finding it hard to believe. I also lost 17lb this week which admittedly is probably still a lot of water weight but I am finding it a lot easier to move around now.

Steve made a beautiful roast pork dinner last night with loads of mashed swede (my favourite) broccoli and cauliflower. We have a lot of pork left so I think we are going to have it in a barbecue sauce with jacket potatoes and veg. The hospital food was very nice but oh my goodness, it's lovely to have home cooked food again.

Hope everyone who fell are making a good recovery and the bruises and bumps are not as painful xx
snoozer, I am so pleased that Laura is getting support with feeding her son. Yay to them all being together at home today xx

Right, I am off to sit in the living room for a bit before nagging Steve to make me some lunch :). Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Afternoon folks.

DUMPLING don't you push yourself too hard but, nonetheless, it's lovely to hear you are making such good progress.

Good to hear Baby-no-name-Snoozer is going home today.

NAN and GERS - no, Pasta Bake is always on a Thursday!! Tea has been christened as sausage & mash, carrots, peas, Yorks puds and onion gravy! I'm safe doing that, it's another favourite meal!

I took the bus this morning to the next little town along for the few bits I needed and came back laden like a pack-horse! After the Co-op for the fresh bits I wanted I made the mistake of popping into Home B's!! I'll say no more!

The drizzle is still with us here but heavy rain is forecast for tonight. That's bad news for the folks in South Yorkshire where many homes, villages and roads are still flooded after last week's deluge.

REDRUBY how did the doctor's visit go?

    Take care all xx

My day has been easy enough. No callers, no deliveries no phone calls. Saving everything up for tomorrow.

Dumpling - it's so lovely to hear of your progress. You're doing so well.

TA - sausage and mash - yum. These DGD have great taste.

I'm still restricting my food intake and losing weight. I've got to be strict as I'm not moving about as much as even two weeks ago. Whilst it sound severe I'm in the 'groove' with it. My face now has loads of wrinkles which I'm not used too. :rotfl:

-taff, I think it was Hester's Steve with the meeting. There are a lot of men of a certain age called Steve, just as there are a lot of women my age with my first name (which I happen to know is also Hester's real first name!)

Dumpling, well done on the weight loss and subsequent increased activity.

They are home now, but have to go back tomorrow to the tongue tie clinic.

Sorry snoozer!! OK, Hester, how's Steve after his work meeting? Is he chipper-er about it now? Thanks Gintot, I will take a look at that one. I was just talking to the OH about it and couldn't remember if there was cream or buttercream in it [ yes, I know a true victoria only has jam but I'm greedy! :) ] nanny, Trgo? dear god! My sister can't stay out of the place. I think she's been four times in the last two weeks...runy, yes, sit down, let the jab do it's work and stay off your feet! and so well done dumpling, good to hear your're doing so much better, but don't go running not walking....Gers, wrinkly face, I know the feeling, except mines the neck, I haven't lost enough for it to show in my face yet...I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

And update, the PID has gone on the boiler, new one is 220 plus vat, and then there'll be fitting on top...damnation....

  • Hi chums just a quick update ,my right shoulder seems to have seized up DDs for the foreseeable as I only have one working hand and its not my normal one so everything is taking twice as long.No knitting sewing, cooking,or driving and I am feeling very cheesed off with life at the moment.Just waiting for the local fracture clinic to get in touch to see what form of treatment they can suggest.
The bruises on my knee is becoming quite colourful and son-in-law and DD have been wonderful though. So if I don't post it's not because anything drastic has happened ,as I will be reading along daily, just not replying

    Take care all
