Do I return to mint velvet or John Lewis?

I purchased a jumper from a mint velvet concession inside John Lewis last month.

It’s developed a fault and I need to swap it (it’s current so they should be able to, or give credit if not)

But do I take it back to the John Lewis store as my receipt is with John Lewis or do I need to take it to a mint velvet shop instead?

Unfortunately our concessions in department stores are not able to accept returns for items purchased at one of our boutique stores. Purchases made at a concession can only be returned to the same chain of department store that it was purchased at. For example, an item bought at John Lewis can only be returned to John Lewis.

Thank you. John Lewis didn’t have a replacement available so gave me a refund
