  • Slightly off topic, but is there anything to actually see or do in Katowice?

I was surprised by how nice the town is and there’s a large park with a cable car and amusement park, but Krak!w has far more in terms of sites and tourist feel.

We used CRACOW LOCAL TOURS, which we booked via Tripadvisor. They picked us up at a bus stop near our hotel ( you were given a choice of bus stops). They drove us to Auschwitz where the tour guide met us and took us around. They then drove us the short distance to Birkenau where the same guide took us around. We were dropped off at the same stop where we had boarded.
It cost £26.50 pp which was good value.

We went just over a month ago, visited Auschwitz and Birkenau with Super Cracow - Tours Shuttle our guide Filip who was very passionate about the atrocities that happened, thoroughly recommend them. Krakow is so good, we were there for four days and wished we had been there longer. Lovely people and lots to see and do and all so cheap.
