Best savings return for £60-80k?

Hi guys
Am after some advice. My father has withdrawn some capital from his SIPS pension as it wasn't performing well. He's got £80k to play with and wondering what would be the best way of gaining interest for that amount? He'll possibly require access to £20k so would either be looking at £60k fixed or £80k with access to.
Not interested in investing as he's been burnt before and isn't keen to do it again.
Thanks in advance

How about this
https://www.investec.com/en_gb/savings-accounts/notice-plus.html
95 days notice with immediate access to 20% at 1.7%. Not quite £20k but close. It epends how long he wants to tie it up for - he could get a little bit more for a 1 year plus rate.0 -
Would your dad be prepared to jump through a few hoops to enable him to open a few regular savings accounts? Rates or these vary from about 5% down to 2%. I save about £5k a month into these, most of them funded from a Santander 123 account which I get 1.5% on, this is topped up every month from money I cash in from Premium Bonds. Its a bit of a pain to have to do all this hoop jumping to get a semi decent rate of return with no risk, but it is what it is.0
