I am requesting people to boycott Al Ryan Bank
I have noticed that Al Ryan bank does not have any concept of Customer service.
All the latest reviews on the Trustpilot seem to confirm my impression that Al Ryan bank has terrible customer service.
I would welcome comments from others on this bank.
Opened a 12 months fixed deposit account with them and transferred money into the account details sent by the bank.
After one week, there was no record of my money into the account.
I have been trying to resolve this by trying to get hold on anyone for almost three weeks and have sent 14 messages through their secure messaging system.
There has been no response to the issues raised.
I sent another message requesting closing the account and refunding the money.
I have been considering complaint to the FCA and the Banking Ombudsman; unfortunately, this requires 8 weeks and confirmation from the bank of non-resolution.
Therefore, please boycott Al Ryan Bank

Your protest might be more effective if you spelt the name of the bank correctly, to improve its chances of appearing in searches on here, or has Michael O'Leary perhaps gone into banking (just imagine the complaints then!)?
If you'd searched on here first you'd have seen that you're far from alone in experiencing poor service....0 -
Did a 3 year saver with them and never had a problem and always friendly. Don't get the hate to be honest0

All financial institutions get bad reviews on here sometime or other, it is the nature of the beast and it is only the bad experiences that get posted.
Over the last 3 years I have had 5 different bonds with Al Rayan. I apply online and get an immediate email to confirm the account is open. I transfer the funds in and can log in online a couple of days later and see the funds are there. I then receive a welcome pack a few days later.
I am sorry you have received a bad experience with them but it is not the norm.0 -
Yep - I've not had a problem with them in the 4 years I've had bonds with them, other than awkwardly worded application forms but sorted with a quick call (before they launched top savings account).
Friendly? They should have had their while-you-wait music 'You Can Call Me Al.'

My experience has mostly been good. The interest rate is comparatively decent and the app does all that I need from it. Their customer service could definitely be improved though. I forgot my password and spent hours in total on hold to them before the password was reset. When I tried to log on it said that my account was locked so I'm guessing that they only did half of the required procedure.
I decided against ringing them again so wrote to them instead but have yet to try to log on through a browser as the app still works fine.
I don't see this as a reason to boycott them though. There's more to life...0
