I very much doubt it. The money credited to my account wasn't credited as an incoming transfer at all. It was credited as "Unknown Merchant."

All previous transfers have been credited accurately -- as an incoming credit with my name and bank details on it. You're giving Dozens rather too much benefit of the doubt here.

They said "Our Payments Team are working as hard as they can to resolve this for you." and that their payment processor was "slightly delayed at this time."

And, hey presto, a bit later the payment appeared. Pretty much like they said it would. Not entirely sure what your point is.

I think a lot of people do not want anyone to know their bank details. So think using a 3rd party card linked to their bank is safer.
Might well be, not. But when things go wrong. Then you are struggling to get to the bottom of problems, or who is actually responsible to sort it out.

KISS is a phrase that people need to understand with banking :rotfl:
