My son is going to ask for an itemised bill from the solicitor as he does not want to get charged for things he and I have done.
It's usually a (relatively) fixed price agreed in advance. If you want to pay for every single thing, expect it to be at least double (even taking off what you've done)!

If you've chosen to speed things up by doing it yourselves, I don't really see how you can expect them to knock it off the bill.

  • Finally my son has got through to exchanging contracts on both properties today (sell flat / buy house).
Does anyone know what the solicitor has now got left to do through to completion 10 days later ?

I'm trying to get an idea of what can go wrong as we do not trust the solicitor, any info you could give us would be much appreciated.

I'm weekly amazed that so many people embark on such a hugely expensive and significant transaction without first getting to understand how it works, and what steps are involved.

  • HI G_M

    Thanks for the info.

Experience so far has shown that the solicitor appears to be useless, so I am trying to find out, if anything, what could go wrong next ?
