Wasting Euro Car Parks Time
flazinho
Recently had a PCN from Euro Car Parks and paid it before discovering this thread 😡
Anyway as I’m a petty person with plenty of time on my hands I want to annoy Euro Car Parks as much as they’ve annoyed me.
I notice they have a complaints department that I can write to. Can this be done without having had a PCN sent as I plan on writing multiple scurrilous letters accusing them of many kinds of things, which while I don’t expect any sort of recompense I simply want to waste their time and force them to reply. Under what circumstances are they deemed to reply?
Many thanks in advance

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
None whatsoever.Under what circumstances are they deemed to reply? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You are wasting your time, irrespective of how much spare time you have.
If you want to annoy them, tell all your friends and family, indeed anyone and everyone you know, what to do and where to come if they get a PCN.
Complain to the landowner/retail managers and explain about the scam and what our MPs have said about the scammers.
Complain to your MP about this unregulated scam. Get everyone you know to do the same.
Contact local and national media and tell them all about the scam.
Euro Scam Parks are making millions of pounds from victims who pay, which includes you. They don't and won't care about anything you say to them as long as others pay up as well.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

As above they won't be bothered in the slightest and you may if you are lucky get one template reply basically telling you tough FO.
Scammers really couldn't care less and will probably just chuckle over a coffee.
You could put in a GDPR request though just to make them do something.0 -
Agree with fisherjim, submit a SAR to DPO@eurocarparks.com attaching a copy of your V5C and, if you still have it, the PCN.0

Before getting a PCN and coming here, I knew nothing whatsoever about PPCs. It has been an eye-opener to say the least.
What strikes me is that the process required for fighting back is not so much opaque as virtually invisible. Yes, PCNs state the right to appeal and, if it's a BPA company, a POPLA code accompanies the almost inevitable rejection of that appeal. That's about as good as it gets.
Apart from that the public are left floundering unless they come across a source of very specific information and support, of which this board is, I think, the best example. Then there's Pepipoo and the Prankster and a few other bits and bobs that hint at the process required.
There's a need to get to grips with PoFA, with BPA guidelines and if necessary with SARs, witness and defence statements and so on & so forth. What I've learned here is that cases are usually very winnable if the procedure is followed to the letter. How many people would imagine that one-word slip-ups could be so costly, that mitigating circumstances - even quite compelling ones - usually count for nothing? How many people realise that the PPCs are indeed a flaming racket, a scam, and that their extremely unpleasant debt-collecting associates can hound people for up to 6 years?
People who struggle with words, who lack confidence, who have mental health issues or are just plain battling to get through jam-packed days as it is can have a hard time even getting off the starting block let alone winning.
The OP sounds like an assertive sort on the face of it (though for various reasons I can imagine one of the PPCs writing something like this in a roundabout attempt to discredit the forum) yet they paid. Most pay.
OP, assuming you're for real, complain vigorously to all and sundry. Collect your thoughts as to why you 'just paid' and write hard hitting letters / emails to your MP, the BPA, the DVLA (maybe), the local newspaper .... any individual or body that may have some clout or publicise this scam.0 -

That will actually be useful because it should have the proof of payment. We have seen a few cases where payment has been made but the scammers are still chasing.
OP, if there is any information missing from the SAR reply, complain to the ICO.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
