Morning All
Cold and frosty this morning, hope everyone is safe from the floods. MIL and FIL live in Sheffield but up a big hill so should be OK.
Good to hear you're getting stronger dumpling.
Two falls in one day? Hope you're both recovering, take it easy.
Not sure what to do today, may take myself off for a wander, it's actually quite nice having a free weekend.
Have a happy Saturday if you can. Take care. XX0 -
My goodness we turn our backs for a second and two of you are on the injured list, sorry to hear about your woes Jackie, and scarlet ribbons, two black eyes!! I hope you can get your glasses sorted.
Its a fine but very cold morning, we have had quite a frost last night which will add to the flooding woes, its taking its time to clear. We were very lucky, no flodding in the village but part of the road to the next village was flooded but passable with care. Quite a few motorist were going through too fast and spraying water everywhere.
A bit of a lie in this morning. OH gets the stitches out of his handon Tuesday, so it will be back to normal. I have found it difficult to cope this time for some reason.
Taken 2 chicken legs out of the freezer, and going to casserole them with veg for tonights supper.0 -
we are going down like ninepins, poor scarlet ribbons it must be catching the hospital said they had five or six ladies in from falls
Poor Margaret ,my DDs ma-in-law she too was so looking forward to our day out at the shops .She is 83 and doesn't get out much on her own as she is too nervous in crowds. We were going to have lunch out followed by fresh salmon for tea and cream cakes while we watched my vicar nephew Hughie do his yearly stint at the Festival of Remembrance tonight. He is the one carrying the shepherd's crook and has done this every year for about 14 years. He drives down from Bury in Lancashire as he is the vicar at St Annes in Tottington, does his bit, then drives back up there late Saturday night as he has the Remembrance service on Sunday first thing. He is such a lovely chap and he often has standing room only in his church.
DGS Mikey has just made me another cuppa bless him
Have a good safe and dry day chums

Morning all
Well it's not a very nice day here, it's wet and dark. Such a shame after 2 lovely crisp sunny days.
Yesterday's visit to the Dr's was much the same " keep taking the tablets and come back in 2 weeks ". At least they are taking most of the sharp pains away......... I'm sure the staff member in Aldis doesn't want to see me clutching my head in agony again ! ( think I frightened her ). The downside is that they make me more nonfunctional than normal .
On to today, I need to give my downstairs a good clean through and then help Mr Fix It remove the old DW, as the new one is arriving tomorrow. I still haven't gone through my freezers, so I'm hoping to have enough energy so that can get done too.
Hester hopefully you and Steve can settle down together after yesterday.
Scarlett ouch hope your bruises heal quickly and take things easy for a while.
JackieO sorry to read about your fall. Now you will have to slow down ! Sending you gentle hugs.
Dumpling nice to read that you are improving. Keep it up.
Gintot hope your cold leaves you very soon. It's not a very pleasant one and takes ages to go. Sending healing vibes.
MeanMarie good luck to Mr MM for his test.
Tru I think MrTru's family are lucky to have you to help :A
Right off to take my Zombie tablet :rotfl:
Take care all

Morning all
Dull and overcast here and rain due at lunchtime for the rest of the day, washing will have to go in the td or on the airer if we light the fire.
OH is food shopping today, I need to go to a few shops to get some stocking fillers for dd and OH birthdays and get something for my mum's Birthday too.
We are off to my sisters tonight for dinner we will take a dish and some wine with us, the pup cant go though as they have a foster dog who is not keen on other dogs so she will go to FIL's.
Washing is on the go and we will both have a quick Saturday tidy before we go out.
Jackie and Scarlett ouch poor you please take it easy and rest and recover xxx
MeanMarie, good luck to Mr Marie for the test xx
Have good days all xx0 -
I'm just taking a much needed pit stop after polishing and vaccuuming downstairs, plus cleaning the kitchen and steaming the floor. The bedrooms and bathroom are to do next but my painful legs really need a rest for a little while.
So whilst having a coffee break I come back to find another of us has joined the ranks of the walking wounded. Poor you SCARLETT, hope your bruises soon fade and you feel less sore. I am feeling quite lucky that I am grounded by cleaning and don't have to venture out on slippy leaves and other obstacles!
Back to my cleaning now so take care everybody, we don't want any more wounded in action. xx (On a brighter note it's good to hear DUMPLING sounding so positive x)"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good afternoon everyone and thank you all for your good wishes.
I pulled myself together a bit this morning, and DH said he would take me to Bon M*rche to have the tag removed from the trousers and change the cardi, if I felt up to it. I'd bought then yesterday, and intended to take them back today when I realised the security tag was still on the trousers. - I don't know how I got out of the shop with the tag still on. The cardi was too big. Sorry I'm telling my story back to front.
Anyway I gently patted some very thick foundation on that I had stopped wearing because it made me look as if I was wearing a mask. It didn't cover the bruises completely but improved things a bit .DH took me over to the shopping centre and I sorted stuff out at Bon Mar*che then came straight home.
I'll go to the opticians to have my glasses adjusted, I think they are twisted, Better wait till my swollen nose has resumed its normal size so they can fit them properly.
Jackie, your injuries are worse than mine, hope your pain killers are working.
Hope no one else has any incidents!0 -
Evening all,
Just reporting in as the third person to have fallen over ! these things tend to come in three's so hopefully the rest of you should be safe now !
I was walking into sainsburys with my dd and the floor in the entrance was sopping wet where it had been raining and people walking in and out with wet feet, my feet went from under me and I grabbed the nearest thing to me which happened to be the basket holder thing which was on wheels both the holder and I went flying and I landed very ungracefully on my bum !
Not hurt too much but my back and neck went immediately sore and stiff, I went to customer services and told them and a very unhelpful lady said 'oh I will get someone to clean the floor' no apology or asking if I was ok !! I went and found someone else in a suit who immediately got the area cordoned off and dried and more mats put down, which was better, but I will e-mail the store because what if it had been an elderly person or a pregnant woman ?? it was so slippery !
Be careful out there !! xx0 -
thanks for the good wishes chums ,the annoying part it if it had been snowy or icy underfoot I don't go out as because I use a stick to get about I figure that there are more than enough poorly folk in hospitals without me adding to them. Those pesky leaves are dreadful. My DD lives in an off road square of townhouses that were built around mature trees, looks very pretty, but the amount shed every year is absurd. DGS Mikey's new job now is to ensure his Mums pathway is clear every day of leaves. If my DGS who is seven and a half months pregnant had fallen it could have really had severe repercussions, on both her and the little one.
So as the sergeant used to say in Hill Street Blues 'Lets be careful out there'
Night, Night God bless all here
JackieO xx0
