Word doc to PDF problem

Trying to convert a word doc to a PDF file.
Saved as a word doc, so go to file, export, create pdf, publish.
Then get a error message "The file is in use by another application or user"
This is the same on another computer.
I am using real Microsoft office software.
Any help please.

Just save it as a PDF in word.
You should see a 'save as type' box when you save as. Drop down to PDF.0 -
Done that, saved as PDF.
But it still opens as a word doc.
More help please...……………….0 -
Can you not just print to .pdf that is the way I always use?0
