Direct debit clearing time

in Credit cards
I've recently done a bank account switch which completed today on the same day my direct debit is going out of my account for my credit card. According to the Capital one app the direct debit seems to have gone through but the balance has not updated yet. I usually don't check how long that takes. Should I be worried?

Balance should update at tonight's update. Check your available credit.0

My available credit is still on the same as it was before. Will that also update tonight?0

I am slightly confused as to what exactly is showing on the Capital One app. In your place I would be checking the bank account and if the direct debit has been taken.0

The problem is that I can't check the bank account because it's closed now. However, as my credit card account is showing a transaction for +45 should I just wait until that reflects in my available to spend and balance?0

It does that sometimes.
By tomorrow it will be updated.0 -

While it maybe closed, can you not see the closing balance and previous transactions?
If not give bank a call and ask or try a atm for a last 5 trans.
This is one reason to choose a switching date that is not the same as any DD'sLife in the slow lane0 -

If you switched on the day that the direct debit was supposed to go out then I would assume the payment will probably fail. However it likely won't show on your credit card account until tomorrow.
Regardless just phone Capital one and explain what happened and if the payment shows as failed then offer to make another payment so that you don't get a missed payment on your credit file, removal of any perks on your account (like 0%) etc. As long as you are proactive then they won't dare penalize you as you'll just complain and it's not worth their effort.0
