No Water Downstairs but Cold upstairs

Was getting water fine through all my Taps, 10 mins later I am getting no water downstairs and upstairs I am only getting cold water, what could have caused this? and is there anything I can do without calling someone out to check on it?

It sounds like the bathroom is still fed off of a tank in the attic which is why you are getting water there. It would appear that your mains have been turned off. Check outside to see if any work is being done in the street which may have interrupted your water supply.

Thanks, Yeah there was a problem a few streets over and the whole area was affected.
