Car servicing costs?

The VW dealership I bought the car from is offering me a service plan where I can get the next 2 services for £430 but I literally have no idea how much servicing "normally" costs. Is it likely to be significantly cheaper if I go to an independent garage or should I just pay the little extra and go with the dealership I bought my car from?
Does £430 for 2 years sound right? It's a 2015 golf diesel.

For £215 a year it wouldnt be a major service. I would save the £430 and use it and go to your normal independent garage.0

I don't actually have a normal garage as I've never had a service before, only had the car for a few months. I'll look around at some other places then I guess.0 -
Did the car come with an VW approved used warranty? If so you may have to service it at a VW dealer to maintain the warranty. Used car warranties are insurance policies and the terms are allowed to dictate where you get the car serviced. This is different to new car warranties which can't make this part of the terms. They can only specify the car is serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines with genuine parts by a competent garage.0

It did come with a 12 month das welt warranty, so I'm guessing the first service will have to be done at their garage as the first service is due 2 months before the 12 month warranty is up.0 -
If it includes everything which will be required on a 4 then 5 year old VW diesel it could be good value.
The problem is quite often some items are 'advisory', such as brake/clutch fluid changes every two/three years, so they aren't included in the quote and you get fleeced for them to do it.0 -
It's scheduled for a timing belt next year, ask for a deal on belt, pump and guides.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
