Just a quick visit to send my sympathy to Tru and the family. It was nice that he went peacefully in his sleep.0

Morning all. Hospital this morning for a blood test in advance of Sundays infusion. The local surgery also has a walk in flu jab going on tomorrow so I'll do that too.
Other than that, it's a day of spends today, going to get a few things including some fine yarn to mend my socks [ they're all long and stripey so I don't want to throw them out] and as I'm typing this I've completely forgotten what else. Better write a list...
Stitch and B*tch was fun, there were five of us chatting, looking forward to the next one...
Cooked the tomatoes, they're there ready to turn in the food mill thingy to get the pips and skin out and then back in the pan to reduce. Normally I'd bottle it, but I think I'll just freeze it in blocks this time.
tru, my condolences...Gers, glad you remembered the chaircamelot, hope you unblock soon![and thanks! a dressing gown is one of the items on the list!] snoozer, glad he's getting more alert despite being in..Nelski, the cakes sound good!and such a good idea with the feeding too, no mess! TA, what a pain....At the moment I'm in the chucking out mood so I'd probably do that to the van too
nanny, are you doing too much? Hey everyone reading along...Fannying about Friday...

Back from hairdressers, I’m a bit ‘Sean the sheep’ but it’ll grow back. Next appointment is in January so there’s plenty of time.
DM’s dentist is still unwell so that’s off the list again.
Nelski - there aren’t even any chairs here suitable for building up, I wish that there were. DM has two low sofas and two very old (and lovely) arm chairs which are also too low. I’ve tried them with the boosters DM has from the OT but it’s so uncomfortable. I’ll swap my stressless chair in the bedroom for the new ‘fireside’ on for now.
Snoozer - good to hear about DGS doing well. He’ll soon be home and snug.0 -
Morning all,
Tru,sorry to hear about FIL,glad it was peaceful & with family though.
I'm off out later with the friend whose Mums funeral I went to last week. It's the 1st time we'll have been out for a couple of months since her knee replacement but she's driving again now. Probably coffee and cake somewhere ...
I've done my admin work for DH so a bit of a tidy up and then I'll go and wash my hair and get ready.
Something with mince for tonights tea,I picked up my butchers pack yesterday and we had burgers, lamb feta and coriander for me & DH, beef, cheese & spring onion for DSons.Lovely too.
It's beautiful today but I could hardly walk on the park as it's mainly submerged - the work ( & money!) the council spent last year 'improving' the drainage hasn't worked at all.Ly1a likes a paddle and was steering me in but I only had my short waterproof boots on and I got wet feet.Long wellies tomorrow Ly1a,promise :rotfl:
Hope you all have the best day you can xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hello all
Tru condolences to you and the family. Pleased that FIL passed peacefully.
This morning I phoned for an emergency appointment at the dentist as it seems now a crown is playing up, but I can't get in till Monday afternoon. Why is everything going wrong with me to do with my head ?
Anyway we had to go out to Mr Fix It's surgery to collect his script and then get it filled at the local pharmacy, so we called in the meat van on the way home. Just made a cuppa and here's Dad on his way to an electrical shop for a specific light fitting. He was successful so Mr Fix It will fit it later . Later I have a Dr's appointment at half 4 and I think we will call in the chip shop for a chippy tea.
It's a bit of a disjointed day so not much house work will get done, although I did give the upstairs a good going over yesterday.
Sending healing vibes to the poorly ones and their families and hugs to those struggling day to day.
Take care all

Afternoon all. Bright and sunny here but too cold to dry any washing. I am keeping warm and trying to shift this cough. I have turnrd down a couple of invitations this week as I haven't felt up to much.
Condolences to Tru and family at this sad time. Nan hope you feel better soon. Gers glad you remembered the chair. Hope everyone is keeping safe in the flooding.
Not much going on here this afternoon. Chilli in the slow cooker for tea.

Good afternoon chums ,well feeling pretty organised at the moment, sent off DGS Danny's birthday card to NYC ,postage cost more than the blooming card, but he is a lovely lad and I do miss him dreadfully at times Can't believe he is 29 next week !! its not five minutes ago he was mowing my lawn and helping out after we lost his Granddad as a 13 year old.
I saw his Mum (my eldest DD) yesterday and she said he is thinking of moving to L.A. possibly next year, so he will be even further away. But at least he will be home in May for his sisters wedding.
I also was quite good and actually paid my tax bill today and the letter only plopped on the mat yesterday ,but as I am going Christmas shopping this weekend in London I thought its best I pay it before I go, as I will probably won't want to pay it in January. I like to keep HMRC happy
History club this morning and we learned all about the Korean war, often thought of as 'The Forgotten War', our poor chaps really had a rough time of it.
DGS Mikey has been fed and watered so I am just awaiting either DD or my son-in-law to arrive then I shall pootle off home .
The weather has been quite nippy today and I was watching the news on TV at lunchtime and felt so sorry for the poor folk in Yorkshire and Derby who seem to have really not had a great time, with the rivers flooding I hope any of our friends in the north are safe and dry
DGD Katie has finished at work now and she only has until the end of next month before her second little girl makes an appearance ,due on New Years Eve. Erin ,her 20 month little lass has sorted out her 'toys' for her new little sister and has gone into her 'big girls bed' and taken to it very well.
We have the baby shower in a fortnight and I have got her some stuff she wanted for the new little baby.
Red lovers of the world uniteI am glad I am not the only one who likes cheerful colours. Winter is grey and dark enough anyway
Condolences to you and your family TRU, but he was surrounded by people he loved and who loved him and thats how we would all want to go I think.
<<hugs>> for those who are in need, and I hope everyone is warm safe and dry this weekend I think its going to get a lot colder now, definitely a nip in the air
Take care all

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough Gingtot, it's a nasty one this year.
My new 'high' chair has arrived and the two nice men lifted my beloved recliner into the living room for me. I couldn't even move it an inch!
A neighbour became up to collect a parcel I had taken in for him and he stayed to chat to DM which she enjoyed.
Ow my feet are up and my sore hip is enjoying the comfort of the chair. I'm more comfortable than I've been for over a month.
Happy evening.0 -
Thinking of you all Tru and very glad it was a peaceful passing for your FIL

Sorry for your loss tru.
Very cold here today but none of the torrential rain we had yesterday.
Very small family this weekend , DD3 and family have gone to London for the weekend and DD1 is off to Cork tomorrow until Tuesday.
OH will be 79 tomorrow ( how did I end up with an old man??) and has a road driving assessment at 10am as doctor is not happy to sign him on for a driving license without the result.......he is not a happy bunny about this but it is necessary for his safety and that of other road users.......I think that he doesn't like the e150 cost more than anything! I will take him for a nice lunch to cheer him up!
Gers.....a comfortable chair is really n ecessary for your recovery.
Bingo.....I hope that you will feel better soon.
Dumpling.....positive wishes for your recovery.
I really miss Lame Wolf......does anyone know how she is getting on?
Have a good weekend
