Carers allowance and universal credit?

Hi,
I have recently made a claim for carers allowance. I am on income support and get child tax credits housing benefits too. Due to me putting a claim in for carers allowance will I have to apply for universal credit due to change in circumstances or does carers not affect this? I've searched online but haven't had much hope in finding an answer and the whole universal credit thing confuses me. Thanks in advance x:money:

This is not classed as a change of circumstances. I'm assuming you're claiming Income Support because you have a child under 5?Hi,

When you clam carers allowance and Income Support, the carers allowance will be deducted from your Income Support and they add a carer premium of £36.85 per week. Carers Allowance is then paid separately.0
