Morning all!
Quick update this morning, I have eldest off sick and I feel rubbish too so we're having a sofa morning (obviously this would be the day that Husband is working away so I still have to do the school/pre-school runs!) and not moving much.
This means I can't do any ebaying really as I'm trying to do lots of stealth clear outs, and if any of the kids see their old things, they all of a sudden NEED to keep them as they're their favourite coat/toy/hoodie ever!!
So I'm giving in and spending some time on Pinterest looking at frugal decorating ideas, along with watching Eldest play his lego game when requested. And also waiting patiently for Friday, when I can actually start making some repayments again, I'm ready to see this debt go doooooowwwwwn!
Happy hump day all!Nov 2019 Debt: £121,000 :coffee: Now: £115,8592 -
Morning!
We made it to February!!
3 things sold on £bay - very small amounts but its cash nonetheless AND helps with the decluttering. So I'll bag them up today and send in the morning
Pay day finally happened on Friday woohoooo! Payments made so far:
Store card: £103
CC1: 136.66
CC2: 166.60
CC 5: 457
Car 1: 197
Loan 3: 539.88
Just a few to goI'm going to spend the morning figuring out spends for the month and how much we can throw at the EF. I also need to check on progress of The Wall and generally see where we're up to. Whilst drinking tea.
Happy Monday everyone!Nov 2019 Debt: £121,000 :coffee: Now: £115,8592 -
Morning!
More payments have gone out, including:
CC4 £252.39
Car 2 505.81
And most excitingly, the Emergency Fund stands at £330.71 :j
The plan is to have that fully funded (£1000) by the end of March. Now I'm just waiting for this month (actually last months) rent to land as the tenants says she's paid it....so we hopefully won't have to touch any of the EF fund this month.
We've not made a decision on the rental house yet - the sickness bug hit our house last week and it got me - mama went DOWN- so we were just in survival mode last week. So we'll discuss that on the weekend but I'm now currently favouring keeping the house, ditching the agent, managing it myself and possibly putting it on the market next Jan when we're (if all goes according to plan!) in a stronger position.
I'm off now to post the £bay parcels that I didn't get round to sending yesterdayafter maybe one more cup of tea before pre-school pick up and chaos ensues!
Happy Wednesday all!Nov 2019 Debt: £121,000 :coffee: Now: £115,8594 -
Gooooood morning!!!!
I've been so AWOL it feels like forever! We had illness, then I locked myself out of the site with the changes(!), then it was half term. But I'm back! Trying to get my head around the new site format - I'm not enjoying it right now I have to say but I'm sure I'll settle in
Update: February did NOT go well. Between several small but significant spends, and paying for The Wall on the rental which amazingly is fixed, we've not made much progress. The good mews is we've made a £700 dent in the debt despite this. The less good news is that we've spent the emergency fund on thangs that (mostly) don't constitute an emergency.
So, onwards. Payday is on Friday and I have a tough plan for us. As Dave Ramsay would say, we're going full on 'rice and beans'. Apart from my middle boy's birthday, where he will of course have all manner of party food and a couple of presents
Everyone is back to school/pre-school today so I'm having a slow morning, trying to get some life admin done (utility switching, cancelling delivery pass for next 3 months, finally logging on to here! etc) and will have a tidy round before pick up in an hour. We had snow overnight which looked magical this morning, but then the rain came and it turned to slush before the school run, so I dropped off 3 very soggy children at school!!
Ahh it feels good to be back! I'll check back in soon

£700 is fab considering you've had a month of paying out.
We've got to pay out for a new Tyre today (after I managed to burst one this morning), only got £124 in the emergency fund so far and it's making me want to cry to have to spend some of it already (amazing how it's harder to part with your savings compared to the ease of 'just putting it on the credit card')!!

Thank you, and oh no! Ours was a tyre too - and once we used the emergency fund for that it just kind of trickled away down to nothingit is SO HARD getting the emergency fund in place and then keeping it!! How much are you aiming for? We're going for the full £1000.

Savvy, have been subscribed to your diary for a while now and enjoying every post! I just did a double-take when I read 3-6m above as million, not months! That would be quite the emergency fund, no?!
Look forward to following your adventures.
