Tethering Sky box to unlimited data mobile

I have metered broadband but unlimited mobile data.

I have tried to tether my phone to my Sky box to watch catch-up, but the Sky box refuses to connect.

Any ideas why? Thanks

    If it's a Q box then they need the 5GHz WiFi band, does your phone support that?

    It's not a Q box, it's an older one.

    It's an iphone, how can I see if it has 5GHz please?

    Apparently it is possible to buy a GigCube and put my SIM inside to get 5GHZ - does anyone know if that will definitely work?

    If it's not Sky Q why do you need 5GHz Wi-Fi?

    My Sky box can see the iphone but won't connect to the hotspot, so I am assuming that I need 5GHZ but maybe 2.5GHZ is supposed to work as well?

    Sky HD WiFi definitely doesn't REQUIRE 5GHz and I'm unsure if it even SUPPORTS it.
