Best place to turn Euros back to GBP?

Options
Hi. I took out money recently in Germany with my Starling card but I accidentally withdrew way too much.

I'm home now and would like to out the money back into my account. But it's euros...

Where is the best place to change it back. Thanks. :money:

  • The best way is wait for a friend to need some euros and do an exchange with them.

Otherwise check out Martin's travel money converter for best bureau de change near you.

I looked at the MSE buy back thing but it only comes up with like 5 places, none of them anywhere near me.
Don't have any friends that have need for euros. They all have starling type cards.

    Im in NI

I use them at Poundland. Some of their stores accept euros and offer the generous rate of 95p per Euro.

What about post office near where you live ?
Yes there is a post office near me, but the PO website only gives rates for selling foreign currency, not buying it back. The fact they hide these rates hints to me that they will offer a ghastly rate.

You likely to be going back soon ?

Your friends may well get some euros before they go away.

How much are we talking about ?

Not going back soon, and if i do, unlikely to need cash. Same with my friends, none use or carry cash. It's about 200 Euros. I meant to take out 20 LOL.

If you don't have a friend to exchange it, you are not living in London, you do not want to travel, you don't want to keep it what other options do you think the people could suggest you ??

And For just EUR200 ?? OMG you are talking the difference of less than £10.
Em... I was just hoping someone could say "xxxxxxx usually have the best rates" or "post office is a great rate, very competitive but HBOS is slightly better".

You know, that kind of thing? That was my hope. Pretty reasonable request!

As for OMG!!!! ITS ONLY £10!!!!... is this MSE forum or not? I obviously don't want to throw away money I dont have to.

Is it legal to offer on Facebook or at your work?
  • Found post office buying rate. they will give £150 for my 200 Euros.
Compared to the interbank rate which would be £172

So thats a loss of £22. Pretty damn poor.

I've tried google rates. It's difficult to find buy back rates. THATS why I asked on here!
