Balance transfer as student

Hi. I have a credit card which I’m paying back 85 a month in minimum payments, of this 55 is actually interest.
I’m a full time student a teacher now so don’t have an income .
What options do I have to get this card onto one with a better rate or a balance transfer for example bearing in mind I’m a full time student.
Not really getting anywhere paying it off and making the most of my money been a student

With no income you'd be extremely unlikely to be accepted for any new credit card, let alone a 0% balance transfer one. Your best bet is to find a part-time job that you can fit in around your studies, cut down on your expenditure, and throw every spare penny you can at the debt.

You could potentially try contacting your current card issuer and see if there's any way they could reduce the APR slightly. But I wouldn't hold your breath - if you think about it from a purely cold-hearted business viewpoint, what's their incentive to do so as long as you're currently making at least the minimum payments each month ?

It's probably worth doing a Statement Of Affairs and posting it on the Debt-Free board - people will be happy to make suggestions as to where you may be able to cut back on your outgoings.
  • You probably very few option, but try an elgibility checker.

Then find out what what rate you're currently paying and compare it with any other options you're offered.

Failing that, cut costs and throw as much as you can at the debt.
  • As teaching full time etc and having a family , a job isn’t an option . Looks like up .
