LED floodlight dim - can I replace?

Bought several LED PIR floodlights. Most give up after a year or two. Got a cheapy 10w one in the garden which has lasted for 7 years so far and it has no covering from the weather at all.
There are a few youtube channels that take them apart. Would be a good reference for you. Also now there are LED clusters you can buy that take 240v direct without the need for a separate driver. Sound dodgy though.0 -
thanks all but I am going to DIY it with my dad - he's done them plenty of times and we'll be reet. It's only about 8 foot high.
I've been and bought a decent one from the indy elec suppliers, 5 year warranty even if DIY'd.
Shall report back how I get on in case it helps anyone else in future0 -
Hey up.
Just in case anyone else finds it useful. It was dead easy to replace.
I got an IP65 one, and we got it installed in less than half an hour, which included sticking the junction box back together with sealant because one of the clips had broken.
So glad I DIY'd it, now I can help my neighbour with hers as she hasn't got a motion sensor one and there have been burglaries in the area.0
