Bought several LED PIR floodlights. Most give up after a year or two. Got a cheapy 10w one in the garden which has lasted for 7 years so far and it has no covering from the weather at all.
There are a few youtube channels that take them apart. Would be a good reference for you. Also now there are LED clusters you can buy that take 240v direct without the need for a separate driver. Sound dodgy though.
Just in case anyone else finds it useful. It was dead easy to replace.
I got an IP65 one, and we got it installed in less than half an hour, which included sticking the junction box back together with sealant because one of the clips had broken.
So glad I DIY'd it, now I can help my neighbour with hers as she hasn't got a motion sensor one and there have been burglaries in the area.
