Eligibility Check on CRA Agencies

Hi

Ive been desperate to get a credit card to build up my credit rating. Finally last week i was able to apply as its been 2 years since my last CCJ. So i did an eligibility check and was getting 95% and 100% on all the bad credit cards, i.e aqua and vanquis, capital one etc.

I did a few soft searches and applied to three or four.

Today i log in and do the same thing to check all my credit cards. All three of my reports suddenly cant find me a credit card. eligibility check has gone down to 0% for all credit cards, including AQUA etc

Is this normal? What could have caused this. Nothing has changed at all in the last few days.

  • You have made "three or four" credit applications. The likes of Vanquis, Aqua and CapitalOne will be aware of this. Your pre-approval percentage would be adjusted accordingly.

What was the outcome of your 3-4 applications?

Is it really as simple as that? I have made a three or four applications in the last four days and all of a a sudden i am not eglieble.

I like to note, of these three or four applications Equfiax was not searched. Yet the eligibility for that has also gone down to zero!
  • Why do you need to make more credit applications? Four applications from four card issuers should be enough to start with....

How do you know Equifax was not searched? Have you checked your live 'snapshot' statutory report?

You appear unsure of how many applications you made - was it 3 or was it 4?
You avoid answering the question as to the result of these applications.
Having made 3 - 4 applications, why are you still checking eligibility. Surely you don't want to make even more applications?

Was it 3 or 4 eligibility checks you carried out - or 3 or 4 actual applications? If applications - what was the outcome? Usually you'd get an answer pretty quickly. Most people apply for one at a time over a longer period.
  • Build your credit history, not rating.

It's likely becuase you already applied with these lenders.

i made around 4 applications. I was accepted by Aqua and Amazon Credit cards. I did apply for Fluid and Asda and also tried applying for two current bank accounts.

Fluid and Asda rejected me. I found out today first direct rejected me.

But ASDA and First direct are not showing on my credit reporrts. Only thing that is showing is NEW DAY which is for amazon, fluid, and aqua. Even ASDA isnt showing

I want as many credit cards as possibble to build up my history.

I was just concerned today when i checked and my eligibilty for all credit cards including AQUA have now gone down to zero!

That shouldnt happen because the CRA agencies do not know if i was accepted or not

First Direct said they need to do more checks - then came back rejected me
    Asda said the same
Metro bank said the same - no response yet but assuming a rejection
I did forget to mention i applied for a tesco foundation credit card yesterday and was provisionally accepted but after doing more checks they rejected me today for a 200 limit!

Cant for the life of me understand how this all works!

To build positive history you need to show that you can manage credit successfully...over a long period... This takes time...and patience... It is not about how many cards (or current accounts) you can juggle....

The credit application searches have been recorded with the CRAs...
