Income and long term growth fund

Good Afternoon,

I am looking to help a friend supplement their pension income with extra funds through the sale of their house.

I am looking for a fund to provide consistent income (3-4%) combined with the potential for longer term growth (wealth preservation after inflation accounted for)

We have round £200k to play with,

Can anyone reccommend a suitable fund/any other ventures?

Thanks in advance

Given the amount to be invested. A spread of investments would be more suitable rather than a single fund. Suggest seek that suitable advice is sought. The desire for a high return will inevitably put the capital at risk. Nor will the income be guaranteed.

You could look at some UK Equity Income Investment Trusts such as City of London but this is high risk but a good dividend over many, many years.

Have you had a look at infrastructure HICL and renewables TRIG. I would be looking at several funds

  • Suggest you back off and advise friend to see an IFA.

£200k is a lot of money, you might not be a friend if that becomes £100k in a year or two.

Definitely agree on this point. If you want to be a friend then say you'll go along with them to see the IFA, but don't get involved in the investment of such a large amount of money by yourself.
