Request copy of appeal from ECP?

Hi all, I'm currently compiling an appeal to popla about an ECP invoice I received. Unfortunately I made the initial appeal to ECP before I happened upon this wonderful forum, and I can't remember exactly what I wrote, nor whether it identifies me as a driver. I'm pretty sure I stated I was with the car at the time but didn't specifically say I was driving it.

Is it worth me asking ECP for a copy of my initial appeal to them so I can see whether I should be adding all the keeper/driver stuff into my popla appeal? Or should I just throw it in anyway and hope that I wasn't too specific about who was driving that day?

Many thanks

Send an SAR as per the NEWBIES asking for all the data they hold on you including PCN, appeals, photos etcetera. Include a copy of the V5 as proof of ID.
If you are lucky they will respond before the PoPLA deadline. If not, bung the appeal in anyway as if they don't know the driver's identity. You will see what you put in the initial appeal when they submit their rebuttal.
Make sure therefore you have enough other points to cover your derriere including the long signage point with your own photos of the site and signage including the entrance where they support your case.

PoPLA codes last for 32 days so don't hang about sending the SAR.

Please confirm the full name of the PPC as many have similar or even the same initials as other scammers.

IMO you would be best not to contact them thusly but proceed as keeper, not driver.

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

  • Thanks chaps, will take advice onboard.

The scammers in question are Euro Car Parks. I would amend this thread title accordingly but don't think I'm allowed to change it.
