Returning new worn shoes that are poor quality

I bought a pair of Carvela black leather riding boots from House or Fraser last Friday (link below).
https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/carvela/petra-boots-yb4693#colcode=yb469300
They fit me perfectly, but after having worn them only twice they have completely bunched at the bottom back area, and now look rubbish as the bunched part sticks out. I tried pulling them up whilst wearing but it doesn’t make any difference. Not only does it not look good, but I am worried it will get a hole in it because the material is creasing here (if that makes sense).
I know that leather shoes are softer material, and boots can bunch a bit and lose their shape over time, but as you can see in the product it is not a part of the design and I would not expect it to happen after wearing twice. I have a cheaper pair of riding boots that are 3 years old that have never had this problem.
Do you think I can return on the basis of “not fit for purpose”, or poor quality ? I understand I have worn them, but this isn’t a case of changing my mind or them not fitting me properly, the design is really poor and as a result they don’t look very good when wearing.

They are neither so I think you're stuck with them as you just don't like how they look. They're fashion boots, not riding boots though. How often do you see the back of your feet ?0
