Transunion - Merge of someone else's details

Hi there all. I am having some issues and thought this would be best to get advice so thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
I was in the process of moving house to a new rental place in July this year and I checked my credit report as I had failed the credit checks. As someone with good creditworthyness this was unusual.
When i checked my credit karma file there were several (around 20) accounts on my file that werent mine. Upon further inspection this person had the same name and DOB as me but lived in a completely different area and was a miss, not a mrs.
I immediate raised these accounts as disputes and got acknowledgements. These accounts were all in default or worst, and 2 CCJ's were also added. This meant that my normally good report was very bad.
Transunion started to remove the acoounts one by one, and i received emails to confirm this. In september i received a letter from provident loans chasing me for over £5k of debt from this person. I called them and told them of the error with my credit report and told them to contact transunion. They were so blunt and didn't believe me.
I have emailed provident ID, proof of address for over 10 years yet I am still being called and threatened about this debt.
Transunion belive that provident have done a data trace on this other person before the disassociation was done, hence my address being listed as hers.
These errors have cost me over £1,000 as i needed to pay for a guarantor for my new car and home, and the whole situation has made me so anxious that i am now undergoing therapy.
And to top it off Provident want to send a debt collector to my home!
Can anyone advise how/what to do here? I have spoken with FOS who said to raise with them once i have got a final response from both companies, that I am still waiting for.
