Economy 7 Smart Meter on Wrong Switching Times!!

Raise a formal complaint with your supplier. The problem is that the average call centre operative does not have a clue about anything that is not shown in simple terms on the screen in front of them. You need to get the problem higher up the food chain.0

I'm not sure it's gone back to a normal meter at all.
It's a prepayment meter and I'm able to top up via an app and the credit goes to the meter. Also when I first joined E they'd put me on the wrong tariff and when I rang they were able to change this from their end and my meter then shew the new correct tariff.
They are definitely able to communicate with the meter as all the rates etc changed when they took over supply!0 -
Interesting ! I can see using the suppliers app via internet enables a simple and quick top up , something which has been around for years, but as you say if the supplier is communicating with the meter , installed by another supplier , then that would mean "smart switching " is now working..So far I have not heard the latest date when the DCC had got this up and running but possibly its now working in a limited way at least.
Some companies would accept us with a smart prepayment meter already installed others wouldn't!!
I wanted to change to Bulb but as I already had a smart meter this wasn't an option.
Excuse my stupidity DCC??0 -

It was supposed to be in operation at various times from early this year. We are still waiting for an example of "smart switching " to be in operation both with SMETS2 meters and some earlier SMETS1 meters makes .
Bulb use Secure Liberty meters which comply with earlier SMETS1 and 20 -
Outs is a Secure meter but couldn't tell.you if it was a SMET1 or 2.
It was only installed just over a year ago by Utilita. There isn't anything on the IHD that tells me either way and I'm unable to access the meter at this moment!!0 -

Just in case any body is interested, my smart meter randomly changed yesterday to the correct settings! So went from heating the house in the day with normal heaters but on cheap rate costing about £3.00 to the meter reverting back to the correct settings and it costing nearly £8!
Needless to say all Quantum Storage heaters have now been turned on correctly and auto boost turned off, immersion heater back to heating in the night etc.
Glad I noticed after only one day like it though! Could have cost us a fortune!!0 -

Thanks for updating us Boogins. Maybe keep an eye on it that it does not mysteriously revert again? Someone else here had their smart meter revert to a standard tariff, so their storage heaters did not come on at all.0 -
Funny you should say that but when I first joined I was on a standard tariff and had to ring them to change it over to E7 but I knew this was going to be the case when I switched as for some reason they can't switch you on a E7 tariff but once you've switched they can then change it over!! Bit of a cold house today as don't want to spend loads on heating today now that it's back at correct rate!!0
