New British Gas deal - do existing customers pay exit fees?
The weekly email this week includes a new deal which is a market leader.
I’m currently with BG having signed up in June to a one year fix which has £30 exit fees per fuel. Does anyone know if I would have to pay exit fees to switch to the new deal? That would wipe out most of my projected savings if so, but if not, obviously a no brainier..

In a similar position having just started a switch three weeks ago. BG started my supply on 16th Oct. Can I switch to this new deal ? Summary suggests yes and says existing customers can switch without penalty, but how do I do that ? It's only available online so no point phoning BG

I've replied to another similar thread wondering the same thing. Thanks for any info!0

Just read your BG Ts & Cs very carefully to see whether the fees apply when exiting the tariff or exiting BG. If in doubt ask BG to confirm in writing, e.g. via live chat (with a transcript) or by email.0

I’ve just rung up British Gas about this subject, and no exit fees apply if you are an existing customer, it’s a no brainier really.0

Very odd. Now when I click through the link on the MSE email announcing this new deal, I get to the Energy Saving Club site which shows my switch in progress to the October deal, but no option to select the new November deal, nor does iy appear as an alternative tariff choice. I am sure it was there this morning when I tried ??0
