    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

Generally a 22k gold coin such as a Krugerrand will contain one troy ounce of gold (31.104 grams) or about 92% gold. The gross weight of the coin will be 33.929 grams to account for the rest of the roughly 8% of copper and other stuff. A 24k Maple will contain one troy ounce of gold (the same 31.104 grams) and weigh the same. Nothing to do with purity

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. If you are looking for an investment, you'll be much better off holding a conventional productive asset, such as stocks and shares.

    Bullion by post is good.

Blue pill-loving denizens of this forum generally hate gold as much as their fractional reserve fiat currency banking overlords do. Those absent of real money in their own possession will suffer most when the purchasing power of the pretty paper (or digital equivalent of) they hold falls to nil. Red pill-popping individuals have known for years (see graph below) what's coming and so have countries such as China and Russia who love buying the stuff at a bargain price.

As for the OP's query, Hatton Garden Metals is the best UK-based outlet for purchasing gold bullion by quite a distance in my experience.

If taking advice on how to get rich from dirt poor countries seems like a good idea then I want some of what's in your red pills.

Let us remind ourselves at this point that taking the red pill in the Matrix films transported you from a comfortable, prosperous existence to a squalid, poverty-stricken one where you had to subsist on grey goop. A reality that was no more real than the nice one (as confirmed by the sequels).
