Thanks for the advice - however I only have a cash card which I don't think I can use at a till in order to pay for goods or get cashback (correct me if I'm wrong!)

Phone your bank and ask them if this is the case and if so then open an account which gives you a debit card that you can use anywhere because it's much more convenient.

That may not be possible (or desirable) for the OP because not everyone qualifies for (or wants) a debit card...

I would be very surprised if the OP could not get any account with a debit card, even basic accounts come with debit cards.

The OP may not desire or want a debit card but she certainly has a need for one and it would be silly to refuse.

It could be that whoever owns the ATMs has decided that they are to be phased out from that location for whatever reason but haven't got around to removing them.

Why not buy something in Tesco for a couple of £s and get cash back? So much drama! There should be a number somewhere on the machine to phone and report if out of order.

The OP has explained they only have a cash card and can’t do this.

Yes, as I said earlier, it won't be Tesco owning and operating these machines even if they are sited on Tesco premises.

In the first instance, the OP should complain to the operator of these machines but, if the ATMs are being removed, then the OP will really have no alternative than to apply for a debit card which she seems to have so far resisted.

The BBC produced a news report about (free to use) ATM closures earlier this year:

At least they haven't been blown up yet and removed completely.
Seems to be the way of ever decreasing ATM's.

The only place I could possibly have had my card cloned was our local Tesco ATM.
I don't use it now but believed to be a bit of a hotspot for it locally.

While ATMs are free to use there is not much incentive for the banks to fix them.

If the bank in question is aware there are customers of the bank who are being inconvenienced they might hurry up so raise it directly with them rather than Tesco.
