Radiator replacement & relocating pipes

Options
Hi,

I've had a quote from a plumber to replace 4 radiators. One of them needs its pipes moving from the ceiling to connect to a ground floor connection and another need moving the opposite wall in a downstairs toilet.

He was quoted £655 before VAT. That is time supplying and fitting everything.

I believe it will be 2x 1800mm rads, 1x 800mm rad and small 400mm rad.

To me this sounds a little on the high side considering it is nearly £800 when we include VAT. However, I thought i might as well get others opinions.

Thanks

Great price, we charge £200/250 per rad s/f (including TRVS and Lock Shields)

No that isn't on the high side. That is cheap for S/F on the rads and all pipe-work

I'm currently getting new combi boiler, also being moved from airing cupboard to the loft, and having 3 replacement rads fitted, all different size than originals, requiring minor alterations so to the pipes, plus TRVs for 2 of the 3 rads.

From the relevant parts of my three quotes, your quote looks fairly priced.

Go online to find the rads and TRVs your are getting and price them up.

From my quote for fitting the 3 new rads:

    Stelrad Vita Compact 300 x 1000 £51.72
    Same as above 700 x 500 £55.99
Stelrad Vita Deco K2 £270 (this is a large vertical, hence more expensive)
    3 x TRV £41.60
    Labour £330

Total: £750 (if the third rad had been a more traditional size, would have been closer to £550)
    - considering the substantial aditional labour involved in moving the position of your rads, I'd say £656 is a very fair quote.
