Italian City Break

Ok we fancy a city break early next year and have always ancied Italy.

So in your opinion what City has the most to offer a couple in their mid-twenties?

  • Italy is like a box of chocolates - all delightful!
    What are your main interests?
Venice is staggeringly beautiful but not really known for its night life, whereas if you're after somewhere more cosmopolitan and lively then perhaps Milan or Bologna would fit the bill.
We're ancient history anoraks in our 30s so pretty much everywhere fits the bill for us!

  • Sorry to barge in, we are planning a Trip in January to Italy. Please could you advise on Venice?

    Many thanks

Rome, Rome, Rome for everything you've learned about at school

    then do Florence for romance
    Pompeii for history
Venice for the buzz and the beauty
    in that order...
    then....
When you get married, honeymoon at The Italian Lakes
When you have kids visit Sicily and
when you grow old gracefully, visit the opera at Verona ;););)

I would say Sorrento as first choice. Fantastic place with the best views in the world in my opinion. Also a great base for exploring the Amalfi coast and Positano.

You can do the package holiday or I can give you a website for a great central apartment and fly easyjet or any other cheap flight you can find.

Florence - we got engaged there. :D Simply divine.

Our honeymoon was spent in Rome, then Tuscany.
