Any one could recommend any house insurance company who do not require/ would consider covering where there are no key operated locks on windows?

Whilst some Insurers may have windows with locks as a standard requirement, it is often a requirement based on postcode risk and/or the value of Contents to be insured or due to previous theft or attempted theft.
So people on a forum won't be able to advise, unless they live in same risk area and have same type of risk to be insured.
Contact a brokers such as Home Protect or Towergate to look into options. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
would it not be easier to just add key operated locks?
My son recently moved house and had standard levers on the upvc windows and i just bought replacement handles with locks and swapped them over.
Cheap to buy and very easy to fit.0 -

The windows are 'locked by the handle being turned and going over the frame, whether the key operated locks would require a hole being cut in the UPVC frame for the internal lock to go in.
I would not have skills to cut UPVC and would risk permanently damaging them.
An the cost of hiring some one would probably outweigh any savings made on insurance.0 -
no drilling needed, just unscrew old handle and replace with new one.
I got my ones from amazon in packs of 3 but heres a link to show you what i mean.
Shop around for the cheapest price.

Our home insurance is with Aviva, they don't ask questions about locks on windows.
I know because we don't have key locks, we have thumb turn locks on sash windows, and they are fine with this.0
