Help required DR+ and Initial parking Ltd

So a letter has been sent to the registered keeper of my cars address demanding £160 from debt recovery plus for unpaid tariff time at fistral beach car park, operated by initial parking Ltd.

I know I know, they have no power and I shouldn’t feel threatened by them. I bought my own place in February after previously living with my mother and I applied for a new driving license and thought I had done everything I needed to do but apparently I didn’t change the registered keeper address via a V5C. I now know I need to do that.

But in the mean time the more pressing problem is that this letter from debt recovery plus is the first letter I have received at all regarding this unpaid tariff time and I haven’t ever received anything from initial parking Ltd and have got no idea if I did over stay or how long they are claiming I did.

I know that any communication with debt recovery plus is futile but I am loathed to start any communications with initial if I don’t have too. There is a PCN on the letter from Debt recovery plus.

I am going to send of my v5c tomorrow but what should my plan of action be apart from that? I know I haven’t missed any mail at either my new address that is on my driving license, or at my mothers address that is on my v5c. The date it was apparently issued was 8/9/2019. I was there that day and had paid for parking. Unfortunately I no longer have my parking ticket though and whilst I don’t think I over stuff I don’t really know.

I have read a lot of other people’s threads and have read a lot of the newbies sticky but I can’t find anything to do with not receiving an initial parking charge.

Thankyou in advance for all help.

Good, don't then, unless you get a LBC or claim form.

EXCEPT for having to email Initial's DPO (using the data concerns email shown in their privacy page) confirming your address for service and telling them that they MUST 'erase' (use that word) your old address and 'rectify' the address data.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Right done both of these things now. Sent of the v5c and emailed initial. Thanks for your help. Will report back if I have any further communications.
