Old parking ticket resurfaced

hi there,
This is an odd one and would appreciate if this has happened to anyone else and what we should do.
We had a parking ticket in November 2016 which we paid, 3 weeks after we paid they wrote to us said we hadn't paid, they then looked on their old system and yes we had paid. They apologised no problem.
Roll on 3 years and the parking fine has been passed to a debit agency and is now £160 I cancelled the credit card I used back in 2018 so no longer have the records, even though they have said they will post them to us, which is great.
But Armtrac are refusing to look on their old system until I prove that we have paid, is this right ?
Any advice would be welcomed
Thank you

Send a SAR to the credit card company. They should supply all old statements. Also send one to the ppc. The letter they sent you previously should still be on file.
I hate to say this is what happens when you pay the tickets. They alway come back for more.0 -
Thanks you, What's a SAR ? And can they chase after 3 years ???0

Subject Access Request. How to do one can be found in the sticky thread for NEWBIES.
The answer to your other question is yes. They can chase you for as long as they want, and have six years to start a court claim in England and Wales, or five years in Scotland. The private parking industry is completely unregulated.
You should also complain to your MP.
If you have used real names as your username you should ask board guide to change it.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Another word of advice. If you ever get another ticket come here first. Paying it just leads to problems.0

Why do people PAY the likes of Armtrac? I was never a real PCN. Absolute scam!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you paid the invoice and the SAR will prove that, fill your boots under the Data Protection Act for compo.
The sooner people learn to use the full power of the Act, the better
PPC's then might start getting their act together - sorry don't know why I typed that
The PPC's like to use MCOL like it is going out of fashion, so why don't we only at £500 a popPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA

If, as it appears, they have used your personal data unlawfully, you could, if you so wish take them to court for breaching privacy laws. You could claim up to £500.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
