While at the hospital i popped into the on site shop, but nothing had a price on it, is this legal ?
I couldn't be bothered to ask prices as it was very busy, so didn't buy anything, seemed very odd

Items offered for sale must show the price so they are breaking the law.

The Price Marking Order 2004 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2004/102/contents/madeObligation to indicate selling price
4.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2) and articles 9 and 10, where a trader indicates that any product is or may be for sale to a consumer, he shall indicate the selling price of that product in accordance with the provisions of this Order.0 -
However there is nothing stopping it just being a list on a wall or similar, same as bar prices. Doesn't need to be shelf edge or individual items.0

My Dad always used to say "if you've got to ask the price, it's too expensive".
How about "POA" adverts you see in Classic Car magazines?0 -
Adverts do not need to show a price, only physical items offered for sale.0

in my town there are a few stands in shopping centres selling mobile phone cases, nothing at all is priced, I get the feeling the price is flexible depending on the customer. I avoid these retailers.0

My local shop had no prices on any of its goods for sale displayed anywhere.
I sent them an anonymous email explaining that they were breaking the law but they took no notice of that.
I then sent an email to Consumer Direct with an official complaint about them not displaying prices.
About 6 weeks later I went into the shop & lo & behold every single item was correctly priced.0 -

So brave to send an anonymous email! They probably thought it was some sort of scam. Don't blame them for ignoring it.0 -
I live next door to the shop so sending a friendly email anonymously was a reasonably prudent thing to do.
If their goods were clearly price marked they would stand every chance of selling more stuff.0
